Founder, Landscape Architect, OALA, CSLA
As a licenced Landscape Architect with ties to Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes, my work is guided by intuition, interconnection, and the unexpected: landscapes that feel alive, purposeful, and true to the land they grow from.
My interest in designing outdoor spaces took root young, during summers at my family's rural cottage on the outskirts of Quebec's Eastern Townships. My grandfather taught me how to “read the forest”: how the changes in topography, sun exposure and soil influence what is able to grow. I watched as he and my grandmother transformed the land to suit the function and aesthetic they wanted. I remember them harvesting slate flagstone from their own cliff face to build pathways and retaining walls around the cottage, tending the gardens, learning native species, and building trails through hemlock forests. Their passion became my own, and that same joy and curiosity continues to drive my work today.
After more than 11 years in practice, I founded cove to focus on what I value most: bespoke landscapes designed around the way a family lives, while responding to the land’s conditions. My work begins with listening, then with understanding a site's ecology, history, and character. From there, I translate a client's values and daily life into spaces that are simple, restrained, and meticulously detailed; spaces that bring joy, restore the mind, and lift the spirit, and that grow more meaningful, and more beautiful, the longer they're lived in.
As a mother and avid gardener, I care about creating accessible, engaging spaces for all ages and abilities. I favour regionally appropriate, robust plantings that make an immediate impact and keep improving through the seasons and years.
When I think of landscapes I love, I think of the natural and the built, the landscapes that shaped my childhood, and the ones that became the backdrop to the most meaningful moments of my life.
